UK-CKD-ToMMo joint conference 2017 in Sendai was held at ToMMo on May 12, 2017. Professor Brendan Delaney from Imperial College London, United Kingdom, Associate Professor Dorothea Nitsch from London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, from King's College London, and Dr. Mariam Molokhia from King's College London talked about "UK–Japan collaboration on a learning health system in kidney disease".

On May 10, they made a visit to ToMMo. Following an introduction of ToMMo, they took a tour of the facilities such as Supercomputer System, Sequencing facility, Sendai Community Support Center and Biobank.

Professor Delaney also talked on the International Symposium “The Learning Health System & Tohoku Medical Information Highway” on February, 2015.
