On Thursday 16th April, the participants in the fourth annual HeKKSaGOn Presidents' Conference visited ToMMo. Following a briefing of ToMMo by Professor Yamamoto, the conference members toured our facilities, such as sequence analysis system, biological sample storage system, Sendai Community Support Center, supercomputer system.
Tohoku University hosted the fourth annual HeKKSaGOn Presidents' Conference from April 16th-17th. The rectors and presidents of Heidelberg University, Göttingen University, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and three of Japan’ s leading universities – Kyoto, Osaka, and Tohoku, gathered and discussed on the topic “Building venues for the creation of new knowledge and values”. The German-Japanese University Consortium HeKKSaGOn was founded in July 2010 as an association of three German and three Japanese universities. HeKKSaGOn stands for the Heidelberg – Kyoto – Karlsruhe – Sendai – Göttingen – Osaka – network.
