From August 10th to August 24th, two mentors and eight Japanese students who study nursing in Miyagi Prefecture traveled to Washington D.C. and New York City on the U.S. Study Tour organized by the TOMODACHI J&J Disaster Nursing Training Program. They visited different institutions, facilities, organizations, government bodies, and university campuses, and interacted with experts in the fields of disaster medicine.

At a symposium held on August 11th, Professor Junichi Sugawara, who participated as one of the mentors, gave a talk titled "Overview of 3/11 disaster and the impact on Obstetric patients in Japan", following the 9/11 First Responder Discussion.

The students and mentors will make a presentation at the Post Trip Symposiums, and share their findings and lessons learned from the U.S. Study Tour to their colleagues in Tohoku, as well as to other regions in Japan.

On Wednesday, September 30th, the official website of TOMODACHI reported the U. S. Study Tour. Please visit the "What's New" of the website for details.
