    Collaborative Seminar by Tohoku University and CEA, France “Toward the Next Generation Medicine” was held

    On October 11th, 2018, Collaborative Seminar by Tohoku University and CEA, France “Toward the Next Generation Medicine” was held in Sendai.
    The seminar was held as an international exchange of clinical biobank, data sharing and latest research in INGEM and CEA, and international speakers, Dr. Paul Henri Romeo, Dr. Jean-Francois Deleuze, and Dr. Vincent Berger from CEA, attended the seminar.

    First of all, INGEM Executive Director Masayuki Yamamoto spoke opening remark, then Dr. Jean-Francois Deleuze (CEA) had given a keynote lecture “From Next generation sequencing to personalized medicine in France”.
    Secondly, Prof Kengo Kinoshita (INGEM, ToMMo) had given a lecture “Introduction to TMM and INGEM Toward the Next Generation Medicine”. In addition, Prof. Keiko Nakayama (Graduate School of Medicine, Tohoku University) had given a lecture “Innovation in Medicine and Health Care at Tohoku University”.

    From the research topics session, Dr. Vincent Berger (CEA) spoke “Fundamental research at the CEA”, Assist Prof. Daisuke Matsumaru (IDAC) spoke “Genetic modulation of KEAP1-NRF2 system in the Alzheimer's disease model mice”, Dr. Paul Henri Romeo (CEA) spoke “Unexpected effects of low doses of irradiation on brain, skin and blood”, Assist Prof. Bin Li (INGEM) spoke “Clinical Biobank in INGEM”, and Assist Prof. Eiji Hishinuma (INGEM) spoke “Functional characterization of 21 allelic variants of dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase identified in 1,070 Japanese individuals”.

    Lastly, Dr. Paul Henri Romeo (CEA) spoke closing remark. More than 100 people attended and amicably closed the seminar.
