    Tohoku Medical Megabank Project (TMM project) has collected biological specimens from over 150,000 participants via Community Support Centers and Satellite Offices established in various areas of Miyagi and Iwate Prefectures. Before deposit, those biological specimens with TMM Biobank, de-identification (anonymization) is essential to protect personal information.
    Group of Privacy Controls takes the role of de-identification as well as managing documents that include personal information. Moreover, if participant requires to cancel participate cohort study, we check the anonymized ID and request to discard corresponding data and/or biological specimens to appropriate section(s).
    Those tasks what we do are absolutely necessary elements for supporting reconstruct from earthquake disaster and establishment of precision medicine, both of which TMM project is focusing.
