    Group of Mental Health Promotion was established to evaluate mental health condition of local communities largely affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, in a process of conducting the Tohoku Medical Megabank Project Community-Based Cohort Study, the Tohoku Medical Megabank Project Birth and Three-Generation Cohort Study, and the ToMMo Child Health Study, and to facilitate mental health promotion in the communities.

    A team consisting of psychiatrists and psychotherapists who estimate mental health conditions and surrounding psychosocial situations of adults and children with high risk of mental health problems or developmental problems among the participants of the above three studies, and provide psychosocial supports, in cooperation with local agencies, clinics and hospitals which provide mental health services and child cares. Also, key information is extracted from these activities, and shared with communities to promote mental health.
